IS YOUR BELT CLEANER BLADE SMILING BACK AT YOU?

When we think of a smile, we think of happy.  Right?  A smile is usually a good thing, but not when it comes to your conveyor belt cleaner blade.

A smile on your blade means that there is more wear in the middle of the blade than there is on the ends of the blade which leads to ineffective cleaning. In order to get optimal cleaning and blade wear life, there are a couple of things that need to happen:

  1. The blade must be touching the belt
  2. The blade should be sized as close to the material path as possible

The purpose of a belt cleaner is to remove material stuck on the belt and return it to the material flow. More material being processed means less waste and more money in your pocket. Now, that should put a smile on your face.  😃
